I know the owner of SWC used to post on this board and the Reef Diver used to be very popular here.  While doing my search it seemed like everything "Scorpion" had been dropped from here.

I was just curious as I'm very interested in the original Reef Diver.  I know that they came out with the Reef Diver 2.0 but I just can't get over that bigger crown.

I just wanted to know the "story".  cool10.gif

please no soliciting for watches on open forum

First off I apologize for soliciting.

I was just wondering why the brand seems to be "inactive".  As I said I know that they have a new version of the Reef Diver but it seems as if there is no interest in the brand anymore.  Maybe it's just me.

I cannot answer for all, just for me.  IMO the design of the Scorpion was just "so-so".  Additionally, it was high priced compared to other, more unique entries into the boutique market...the last discussion I remember (here) was concerning the name change...most did not care for it.

That said, I didn't care for Bathy's either (not design, price or business ethics) and am ambivalent about Ocean7, which does have its supporters here!

I'll echo what Ken has said here. To be clear though, there was and is no back story.

And don't believe what Ken says about O7... he's after my G-1 GMT!!

If you own one give us the scoop....hard to talk about a watch if no one owns onehand6.gif As far as the new Reef Diver 2.0 I love the design it is unique....I'm turned off about the use of the SW200 and the eta price tag and don't get me started on that againmistake.gif

Yes...the O7 G-1 is an exception, but it is not really an O7 watch...it is a Steinhart/DeBaufre GMT with different hands!  You can belive me about the other models...they leave me cold, except for the one that looks just like the Glycine...and I'd rather have the Glycine! toon1.gif

Ken all of the O7 designs are someone elses and I have nothing ill fated to say about homages or O7 but c'mon leading members to believe they are actually designing the watchesmistake.gif Check out the Gnomon watch section here as Anders is gearing up to do some vintage homages in period style for us....now getting to choose the homage is very cool imhocool10.gif...I also like the Reef Diver 2.0 and would buy one for the uniqueness of style alone.hand6.gif

OK I will make it my personal crusade and even buy the watch if I have to (the original Reef Diver that is).

I just can't imagine spending that $$$ on a watch with a Sellita movement so I think I'll go pre-owned on this one.

You are all a wealth of information - thank you. You guys yourock.gif.
