Just received my very first Invicta, a 9110a (same as 8926 but w/rubber strap). I got it for $69 shipped from Amazon.com. I must say I wasn't expecting much for that price, and what I got impressed and disappointed at the same time.

The first impression is that this is a gorgeous piece, not surprising as it is a hybrid Submariner/Omega SM Pro clone. The fit and finish is very good, although the bezel was hard to turn (the smooth scallops didn't help). There are very faint polishing marks on the crystal, and most disturbingly, the lume dot on the bezel popped out and fell into my lap! I managed to get it back in. Apparently, it is held in with friction and a prayer.

The Miyota 8215 seems to be functioning well. I need more time to monitor it's accuracy. Doesn't seem to be gaining or losing too much, though.

Overall, this is a keeper. I threw on an old bead-blasted Seiko Orange Monster bracelet I had lying around. I guess that makes this a Frankenwatch! Here's some pics (forgive the poor quality):

Sorry to hear about the lume dot popping out. Glue it. As for the bezel, you need to grip it a bit different and turn it several times. It will loosen up.

I'm not even gonna go off but I will say regardless of how much or little you paid for it, the imperfections you mention in your post are just indicative of the crapshoot that is synonymous with Invicta.

Send it back. You want one that's done right with pip and all... JMHO!

If the lume dot falls out of the replacement, he might not be so lucky and find it. :D

This is my fear exactly. I agree from research here that Invictas are a crapshoot. I'm not certain I want to roll the dice again. The lume dot appears to be behaving itself, and as mcwright mentioned, once you work the bezel a bit, it seems to loosen up. And yes, you have to basically grip the bezel insert, not the scalloped edge to turn the bezel!

If the Miyota movement settles down to a reasonable rate, then I will be keeping this as the "beater" of my miniscule collection.

At least for now...maybe in the near future, I'll be selling it - along with the bead-blasted Seiko OM bracelet that's on it. Would anyone be interested in such a piece?

Agree with the above - Invicta is a crap shoot, the miyota based old-school diver series (89xx and related) are the best bet, and if you get a good one, it is a great value that you just can't beat...so I would agree, if the rest of the watch settles in nicely, glue the pip, enjoy it and when it comes time to move it or destroy it or whatever its' fate, it will have been a goold $69!  If something else goes wrong...send it back indeed...  good luck, BTW I have a 4 year old 8928 that is still going strong!

I didn't mention I've owned a bunch of these watches. They work well and little hic-up with the pip wouldn't bother me. That particular model can look great with a number of different straps too. Have fun with it. :)

Thanks everyone! I am indeed enjoying it. I think the trick is to be realistic about Invicta. Seems they can't keep up with their growth, and QC/CS is suffering. Yet, at the street prices we're talking about, I don't really feel we can complain too loudly.

Anyone with practical experience with gluing these pips/lume dots? What brand? How to apply without making a mess, etc. Thanks in advance for any advice. At this point, the dot seems to be pretty well jammed in the hole, and doesn't appear to want to just fall out, but you never know.
