I had to sell of a bunch of my quartz digital Casios to pay for a repair on one of my watches.  And after coming here for a while and reading around (especially in the daily wrist check thread) I had to pick up some new pieces heavily influenced by the 3T crew here (see the 3rd/4th pics below).  Luckily, I had some cash left over from the sale hand6.gif to pay for all this.

So, what did I end up with??

These:

#1:  A titanium Casio Pathfinder 1300T (I think everyone should have a nice ABC watch which is solar powered and sets itself to the atomic clock signal from Boulder, CO):

#2:  A titanium Seiko SBDA003 "Samurai":

#3:  A Boschett Reef Ranger with the killer blue dial.  I couldn't resist the deal on this one after many pics and reviews of the RR around here.My beauty:

#4:  And last (but not least) a Bernhardt Globemaster with the very cool independant 4th hand:

And what got repaired??  A Seiko Perpetual Calendar in titanium with a cool charcoal colored dial.  I've got a bunch of divers, but most don't fit under a shirt cuff comfortably if I need them too.  And this actually has quite decent lume too (model # ???):

And my quick thoughts on each model:

#1:  The pathfinder is a joy in titanium.  Light, super legible display, and a the bracelet fits 'just right'.  Big stopwatch and countdown timer too.

#2:  I've had two watches identical to this one before.  I love the dial, and regretted selling this model each time I did.  I told myself the next time I see a 'good deal' I'm going to get one and try not to let go of it.  So, I got lucky and scored one at a great price.  And it's already got some 'wabi' to it, so I don't have to over-baby it.

#3:  Amazing watch.  I didn't 'get' what others said about it, until it arrived.  Nice kit that comes along with it too.  The lume, though not super bright when you turn off the lights, does last easily thru the night.  The case and bracelet fit/finish is stunning.  And the dial, o the dial!  Wow...just beautiful.  I like this a lot, and it's with me at work today hand6.gif.  And I really dig how all the logos on the watch incorporate the small 'clock' in the bottom of the "B" (something I didn't even see at first).

#4:  Just plain cool.  I try to stay away from black dialed watches, as I tend to get bored with them if they're not 'special'.  This one, with the yellow highlights is just so nice.  It's another one with a killer bracelet and great case fit/finish.  And the lugs have this really amazing bevel on the tops of them.  Just awesome.  I also like the timing bezel a little better than the 24hr bezels on the other models.

Congrats man!  Looks like quite a week!  smile8.gifThose are some sweet watches...lovin' the blue Sammy, but the RR dial looks spectacular too.  I've always wanted a Globemaster as well.

So the big question is:  which one did you choose to start your day today?

Thanks guys!

Started the day/week with the Reef Ranger.  The screwed links are awesome.  The Globemaster has screwed links too (these are my only two current watches with screwed links), but on watches with screwed links I have a ritual: I size it, then use some thread locker to keep the screws from backing out.  The Globemaster is still 'setting' :).  I think I'll wear that one tomorrow.

Great pickups Topher!!  I agree with you about the Reef Ranger; the blue dial version is absolutely stunning!!  Not sure what issues you might be having with yours, but rest assured Keith will totally make sure you're taken care of.

As for the Globemaster, I've always liked that watch, but never pulled the trigger for whatever reason.  I wish the GMT hand and/or the seconds hand was lumed.  Speaking of lume, how is the lume on the Globemaster?

Great gets Topher.  I have the PAW 1300 and RR and they're both great.  Congrats.

1) Okay...here's my usual rant on quartz watches....I don't like them!!!  But WAIT, after getting a couple of G-Shocks for my son's (a G3011 from Shady & Pax for KJ and a preowned DW-6600 for Lee), I'm really kind of marveling at the innovation of the Casio Digital quartz line...and that Casio Pathfinder is gorgeous!   Hmmmm....I think I'll be getting a G-Shock of some sort here in the near future!  Damn you, Casio!

2) Don't have a Samurai anymore (traded it to Oscar), everyone knows, I love Seiko...extremely high quality at extremely reasonable prices!

3) Reef Ranger...what can I say...a Yellow in the box and a 3T on the way!

4) And last, but not least, the Globemaster...a very fine GMT for the money.  I picked up a black dial in a trade a couple of months ago, but. alas, it will be on the block soon.  I do like it...it is an awesome watch, but my Orange/Blue "GATOR" Globemaster won out!

Bottom line...you got 4 "SMOKIN" " watches...ENJOY! woohoo.gif

Great week! All great looking watches.

I had an orange Casio (DV 8000?) that my son misplaced - I miss it and should get another Casio of some sort. I like the Pathfinder...

Okay...I need an education.  Is the Casio G-Shock with all its various models a different line than the Casio Pathfinder?  It seems to be a line unto itself!

I am intrigued (and all the while choking) at the thought of buying a digital watch! mistake.gif
