JKang, I think you're right.  I just did a search in WUS archives and there's a lot said on Yuri (Juri) Levenberg.   Looks like this guy wrote a book on Russian Watches too.  Unfortunately, the forums are closed right now for site upgrades and I cannot read all the details.  I know for a fact that PowerSellers don't like neg.feedback so I have good hope he will get back to me.  I will keep you guys posted on how he handles this case so you won't do same mistake i did.

Scott, I think so too...

Daniel

Sad to hear about your sorrows, DM71face4.gif. I think it will be some time before I consider those makes. I had similar "make" problems with their SLR cameras long ago and swore never again.coyote2.gif

Thanks for you compassion Bigrusty ;) !  You know, I honestly think that the problem is not with the brand as much as the QC and the handling of the watch.  Yes there is a flaw on the dial but this is something you can also see on well known and way more expensive Swiss watches as well, and I know that for a fact since I have more than one Swiss watch with issues like, lume not put even or not applied precisely or a not aligned chapter ring or bezel... I would say this is not as common but it does happen.   With that said, Russian watches, do have a reputation of uneven assembly quality. To me, it all comes down to QC and who inspected the watch before sending it to seller and then to the buyer, which is me.  For some people, the problems I have would not be a big deal but for me, it is.  I take good care of my timepieces and I like to damage them myself, if you know what i mean:D.

Poljot is, supposedly, an Higher end Russian Brand (again, according to what I read) and is usually well reviewed, same for Vostok Europe.  So, I cannot say I will never buy another one because I kind of like a lot of their models, but one thing is for sure,  I don't think I will ever buy an other one that's not coming from Russia2all.  I'm certain that their is other good sellers out there but  for me, Craig is the man and I KNOW that if I have a problem, he will take care of it.

I have purchased both watches and straps from Yuri Levenberg. All the watches arrived in new condition. One was the wrong model, but I just kept it. I received some straps that were the wrong size and I emailed him and he sent me new replacements (after I returned the wrong ones). I used to send my emails to him in english and in german (via a translator on my mac). He did reply except for once when I just asked a question about availability. Some of the straps I bought turned purple. Most were ok. All of the watches were ok.

My guess is you received either a serviced watch, a return (that wasn't checked out) or the watch was bulk shipped in poor packaging to the seller (Levenberg). All are possible.

As for the hole in the back, I'd have to see it, but that doesn't sound right. The case back can be used as a sounding board for the alarm, but it shouldn't be as you describe. At least I don't think so. Attached is a picture of your models case back taken from ruwatch.com. Keep emailing Levenberg.

Man,I feel your pain.
If it's in new condition it should have
been in mint condition minus the
scratches.

However, having said
that,it appears there seems to be
quality controls issues with the
way the dials are painted.

Maybe perhaps a small batch
of watches had this problem.

Hope for the best and
see what can be worked out.

Cheers,
Simon

McWright, you give me hope.  I sent an other email this morning, will try to find a way to translate in German...  As for the case back, what I think to be a defect can only be seen from the side of the case back.  It is really on the edge, it looks like if somebody would have tried to open the case back with a small screwdriver by prying it against the case and then broke the edge of the case back, thinking it would pop out (it's screw down case back), the piece is still there put lift up.  I'll try to get a pic of it but it's small.

Simon, thanks for your support !
:)

Well that sounds more like a customer return. I may have been sold to someone who thought it was a quartz watch (really) and they tried to pop the case to change the battery when the watch wasn't wound. This crap does happen. Then he sends it back and the seller doesn't check it out.

Well, that's it, it's over.  After sending 5 emails in English and German, waiting 4 days, I left a negative Feedback to the seller.  I will fix the case and enjoy the watch. This guy as no CS so for sure the last time I will buy from him.  Yuri Levenberg from eBay is on my black list and I recommend to avoid this seller.  My advise would be, if you want a Russian watch, buy from http://www.russi2all.com and if Craig doesn't have it.  Ask him to get it for you, I'm sure he will.  Anyway, that's what I will be doing next time...

Thanks to everyone again for your help and support :) .  Case closed!
