Well...I have Paxman to thank for a little enabler push on this Glycine Lagunare 3819...every since I saw his I have been thinking I'd eventually get one if the right one came up.

I have really liked the Glycine brand (probably going back 20+ years...just really like the history, simplicity of the designs, and the fact that they have stayed true to the brand over many decades), and have never owned one so this is my first Glycine.:)

The right one came up (surprisingly a new one at a fantastic price with 2 year international warranty with the Gycine Rubber Strap and Glycine Leather Strap)...and well...I went ahead and jumped on it despite the fact that I'm really planning not to purchase anything for a little while subtlelaugh.gif - thanks 3T (except for the Vortex which has been on preorder).

If I look at my very small collection, all of my watches are "dark dial" watches...nearly all are black dial with one blue dial in the bunch, so this Pale Yellow dialed Lagunare is really something different for me and I'm glad I added it to the group.

The Lagunare is available with a display back or a stainless steel back...this one happens to have the display back which is pretty rare in a 300m diver.  This is a large watch with 46mm bezel diameter (and measures a solid 57mm lug-to-lug which is 1mm larger than another large watch the Debaufre Csar which measures 56mm lug-to-lug).  I really didn't think I would ever purposely exceed the 56mm lug-to-lug distance...and in fact the seller stated that the Lagunare measured 54mm so I was thinking...no problem.  Well, this does give the Lagunare some unmistakable wrist presence, but the watch is only 12.5 mm thick with the diplay back (12mm with the solid back), and so it wears much smaller and is really quite comfortable on the wrist given the other proportions...I am really liking this one alot so far.

I'm very impressed with the build quality...very nice satin brushed finish on bezel and case, lug tops with very nice polished sides and back.  Love the super clean, highly legible dial which is classic Glycine.  The unique bezel lock for the bi-directional bezel is just so cool.  Superluminova Lume is actually quite good and I like the fact that the dial numbers are lumed on this pale yellow dial.

Here are several quick and dirty pics:

Thats a beauty, Chris!

I also like Glycine watches, but don't have one at present. I have a buddy with an Incursore date on polished SS and it has proved to be "the watch that gets the most comments" for him.

Your yellow Lagunare is killer. I would also like to add a little "sunshine" to my collection - and one like this would a welcome addition for anyone, I reckon.

I always know when I like a watch, cos it instantly becomes my screensaver. One of your pics just hit my PC screen as a reminder of how nice it is!  ;)

Congrats and wear it in good health!

Cheers! IanM hand6.gif

Gentlemen...Nabco, Joe, Daniel, Ian, Pax, and Simon...Thank you very much for the kind words and congrats!!!thankyou.gif

Really, really enjoying the Lagunare...and had to slip in on the wrist this evening to celebrate the Broncos win over the Patriots (no offence Patriots fans...the Broncos continue to surprise me with their undefeated record considering a new QB and Coach).

...ok, sorry for the digress...

Daniel - wishing you safe travels in your "incoming" piece.

Ian - I'm truly flattered that one of my pics made your screensaver!!

Pax - You are responsible for this buddy!!!  I am such a fan of Stainless Bracelet watches and had been ogeling the SS bracelet that you had on your Black Dial Lagunare...I think the bracelets are more rare than the watches if that is possible, but I have to admit a contrasting strap like this rubber really suits the pale yellow dial on this one.  I am already thinking about a custom leather strap of some kind to park between the Lagunare's lugs.

Thanks again all!!!

I just love that dial color! I have a few with a similar color. That color looks pretty good with vintage brown leather also.

Congrats Chris! ThumbsUp02.gif

I like that one, Chris. I have seen that many times in a show window of my favorite retailer but I think it was in a milk-white dial. I was also considering getting that some time back but something else came on radar. The Airman 7 is also a great piece.

Glycine is made by a close-knit family. All its members have a role in the business. How much more personal can you get?

Big Congrats and wear it in good healthhand6.gif
