I just picked up a new Victorinox Swiss Army Ambassador, my first hand wind. It used the Unitas 6498-1, if the seller copy was accurate; I'm sure one of you movement experts will know for sure.

I love the detail on the satiny silver dial, and the seconds dial at 6. The inner 24 hour track is a waste, as most of it is missing, and is the only fault I can find.

The case is 45mm across, 11mm thick and 51mm end to end of the nicely curved lugs. The crown is large-ish at 5mm x 6mm in diameter, and signed. Case sides are brushed with the bezel polished. The strap is very nice leather and the typical odd size of 23mm; but a 24 fits nicely.

Have a look-

I like this one alot Nate...Congrats!!!!thumbsup.gif

The Unitas 6498 is a great choice for your first hand cranker IMO (although I'm no expert with only one 6498 and one 6497).  I think you will find the accuracy and consistency of timekeeping to be absolutely steller.

Great, classic style to this one and love the seconds dial at 6...very nice wrist presence too given the generous dimensions.

What's not to like?

Great choice and enjoy!!!

That is sweet, I dont think the 24 hour markings are a waste though. The way it has been done adds to the watches character and makes it different I think. It is a great watch wear it in good health my friend.
