Do you find the flip buckle on this digs in and irritates after a few hours? I need to replace the strap on mine because of this.

Yes it does I may change it back because I cannot wear it with the buckle, lets it down a bit but the watch itself is amazing.

I am a pretty big fan of Seiko having 8 in my collection but it seems that I have overlooked this beauty! Looks as though you have gotten a one heck of a nice watch & on your 1st try no less. Seiko has come a very long way from the Quartz invasion of the 70's, my good friend watchdaddy1 & I went to a high $$ Cigar Store in Scottsdale, AZ where they have a section dedicated to some high $$ timepieces, Glycine, Futima, Alpina & more including the Seiko Spring Drive selling for a mere $6000! Thx. for sharing your B-Day present with us!![]()

Thanks guys! Yes, I allways looked at Japanese watches as a bit "cheap" before and that's why when I started to hunt after one, I wanted something of better quality. I didn't want any Chinese made model or any cheap model: Even they looked cool. Seiko comes up with some nice innovations and seems to grow among the higher range now. Warriorrider: The spring drive is interesting but I don't know yet if it's worth the high price difference... From now: I tell again, this Premier model gives much watch for the buks and if you love Roman dials like me, you will be delighted with this option. I've told long enough that owning an "Asian" watch was against my religion but I am now a proud owner of a Seiko Premier. Still, a Seagull will never have it's place in my collection. I see a difference between the continent and the islands of Japan and that's why I say "Asian" with quotes.
