![]() ![]() ![]() Lately I have been only buying and keeping divers, my favorite watches and most are 42-46mm. But I have been lacking in the dress watch department and wanted something to wear to work that was dressier, and had class. I almost bought a Hami Viewmatic and then I got the Orient announcement email for this LE 60th Anniversary watch and I thought it looked perfect for what I was looking for. So I pulled the trigger last week and the watch arrived today. To my surprise, it was love at first sight! ![]() ![]() Here are the specs: Power Reserve: Approximately 40 Hours Crystal: DOMED CRYSTAL GLASS Movement: ORIENT caliber 48N40 Made in Japan Clasp: BUCKLE W/ ENGRAVING Water Resistance: 30m Case Material: Stainless Steel Case Diameter: 39mm Case Thickness: 11.60mm They made 1500 of the silver model and 1500 of the gold version, in commemoration of Orient Watch Co's 60th anniversary. It has a very classic design and is powered by a hand-wound movement with a 40-hr power reserve. Each model is individually serialized. The domed dial has a vintage look to it also due to its color/texture, the vintage styling is emphasized by the domed crystal too. The simple case, rounded shapes and overall classic design makes this a very elegant watch. "The dial and caseback bears the serial number and the cursive ORIENT logo, used in the 1950s, as well as the legend “60th Anniversary,” testifying that the watch is a 60th Anniversary Model." I have only worn it a few hours so far but I am very pleased with its look and the way it wears. It seems to be very well built as well and is a great value. I know its design and size are not for everyone but I am super happy! ![]() Here are a few quick pics I took at work... and outside in the parking deck on my way out to a meeting. Thanks for reading! Soon two more arrivals ![]() Brice ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Brice As I commented in the daily, I was also tempted by this....... Great catch! I really like the retro styling. The size is spot on for a dress watch IMHO. Please let us know how it behaves after a week or two. ![]()

Graham wrote: Brice I think that's an elegant timepiece, Brice. That should be quite accurate as Orient is known for great handwinds. Enjoy it in good health!

I think you and others have already said it, but this new Orient is really a great looking dressy, classy, and classic piece!!! Love the power reserve indicator on the dial with this one too!!!![]() These dressy pieces without the presence of a thick dive type bezel tend to wear larger on the wrist than the dimensions would suggest...so the 39-40mm case size seems to work here and looks great! Congrats and enjoy Brice!
