Just arrived from Island Watch. A new Elysee GMT, BIG date. Very nice fit and finish, peek-a-boo glass back, mongo-sized crown, flat gray dial, and a rounded mineral crystal. 20 jewel mystery movement, 3ATM, coin-edge type beze, Luminescent hands and numerals, 42mm case.

Great deal from Marc at IW. I don't think this model has been made for about a year, but it was part of Elysee's 2004-2005 model run. It is hard to get a good picture due to the slight bubble of the crystal. Like all Elysee watches I have gotten, it looks ten times better in person than in their photos. Right after I post this the brown strap is coming off for a black Hirsch Liberty strap. :)

Some better shots with the new Hirsch strap. I put a Traveler strap on as it has gray stitching. A perfect match! :dude:

Thanks. I just noticed tonight that the dial has a very faint metal flake in the gray. Also, I couldn't figure out the GMT setting. I never thought to look in the box for the manual. Doh! :D

Yes, Mr. PC. The GMT setting is a bit like using one of your Pee Cee's. It requires reading the manual. Its not intuitive like a MAC. :P

Very nice watch Michael!

Let me see..... at the crown position of the date change, one direction changes the date and the other changes the GMT hour? :P

Your pic showed the lume is white?

What is the size of the case w/ and w/o crown?

""Let me see..... at the crown position of the date change, one direction changes the date and the other changes the GMT hour?""

Close, but it doesn't work that way. It works by advancing the hour and minute hand past 12 until you reach the time setting in the window. Then you advance the analog hour hand
back until it is at local time.

Case size is 42mm, but it looks like a 43mm on. The crown probably adds another 5mm. 22mm strap size. This model came in a black dial as well. Javelle still has it available in their lineup in a creme colored dial.
