Just got a beatiful looking Manrine Diver from International Watchman, with Unitas 6497 hand crank. My question to you guys that have seen or own one is this. Once the crown lever is released the crown seems to simply "Spring" to the winding position. There does not seem to be a "screw down" just the lever that locks it down. Just want to make sure that's how its supposed to work. I emailed Ron too, but haven't heard back yet. He's at a show in Cali somewhere. Thanks for the help/advice!

I don't have one but have come close to buying one a few times. They have a good rep as watches go. Not sure about the crown and lever deal there but one of the 3Ters may know. Congrats on the pickup. ;)

So far so good on the quality and finish - seems to be keeping great time - just don't want to wash my hands only to find out its not locked down!

That is how it works.....there is no screw down crown on these and the lever locks the crown in place....I did a group buy on these about 4 years ago with Tony and the other mods on another forum and all I can say is don't wear it swimming....I'm not sure what the water resistancy is on these newer ones but if it is under 100m it is not meant to be worn in water...hand6.gif

That movement does not have a screw down crown. The crown gaurd lever must always be pushed tight against the crown. What worries me is, you say the crown "springs" out when the lever is released??? The crown should click out 1 click..........to adjust time, then clicked down for winding.

I agree with Tony in that you shopuld have to physically pull the crown out to set the time.....IWW is not known for answering e-mails nor CS....sorrywatch2.gif

Thanks guys, Tony I have the same as yours except the blue hands - I feel alot better about things now - glad I didn't break it, the spring i referred to is when the lever is closed on the winding position it snugs up to the case a bit, I think that all is well. Now that I think about it, how stiff should it be to wind? I don't want to overdo it. I realize that its sort of a subjective thing, but my auto Air King winds a lot easier when in the winding position! Thanks Again!
