I have made my decision but I also need a bit of fine tuning,
in the Process of Elimination Department.
What I came up with is a combination of Name Brand Watches
and more contemporary ones...here is my list.

Budget has increased to $1,500 Can.

1)  Brand New Longines Master Chronograph Reference L2.629.4.78.5 (40 mm)
2)  Used Omega Speedmaster MK II cal.861 (42 mm)
3)  Brand New Marathon G-SAR (42 mm)
4)  Brand New Hamilton X-Wind Chronograph (44 mm)

Keep in mind all these watches are all Automatics.
The Sinn 103 A ST is still out of my reach by another $150.

Your so close to the Sinn, why not just spend the extra $150 and get the watch you want more than any other?

The best part of getting a new watch is the choosing process. You have all these great watches to choose from. But ultimatley you can only get one. I say wait another week, save the extra $150, and by the end of the week, you are still leaning towards the sinn. THEN GRAB IT!.Good luck and keep us up to date.hand6.gif

DITTO! woohoo.gif ...but I'm not sure I would "beat" any of those as you described in you previous criteria.  For that criteria, I'd still go for a Stowa or an ENZO.

Simon, the other day you did say that from now on you would buy what you like. It seems to me you like the Sinn the most:)

I'm disappointed that you did not include the latest Renato; that would pass the strictest standards of all but the most anal retentive (Christopher Walken & Christian Slater know something about that) processes of elimination .

If the difference of less than 8% of the price of an item keeps it out of reach from owning, then one should probably assess whether it would even really be affordable at less this amount.  This is a fine hobby, but staying within one's means is important, especially in a lousy economy.

I'm with everyone else, in this day and age of duty and obligations...how often do you get to actually purchase what you REALLY want??

Patience is a virtue after all. Why not make the Sinn virtuous?

Good advice to wait a while and get the Sinn you really seem to want.

Thank you kindly to all of you who have responded to this thread--to let
all know that  I have taken everyone's advice to heart and decided
to wait a little while longer.

Who knows, perhaps if I saved up another three-four months.
I could end up with Brand New Rolex Submariner!

If the Sinn is my brass ring that I am aiming for.
Then the Submariner would be the gold ring that many of us want,
but only a few of us could afford.

This is the reason why I enjoy this forum is because of
the positive feedback.

All the other ones I just get criticized or judged.

Thank you again for all your kind comments and statements.

Sincerely,
Simon
