I've been thinking about it myself. Crazy low price and the pics I've seen makes it look real good. Something else always seems to come along though. LOL :D

I have thought about these too. Crazy low price. didn't Nabco or someone have one. Supposed to be impressive for the price. The only thing stepping me is I don't want another watch with "SWISS MOVT" on the dial. I am hung up on that at the moment...

Hi Ken, The Binnacle was my intro into auto divers. I say go for it. One of the best bangs-for-the-buck going, IMO. The specs and build quality far surpasses the pricepoint. It's still using an ETA 2824-2 mov't, correct? Highlights. The dial and broadsword hands are a great combo. Legibility is good. +11 seconds out of the box and it's still that way today. Sapphire crystal. The weight of the watch is significant for a 39mm piece and it wears well. The bracelet is a HUGE plus for this watch. Very solid with plenty of adjustments. Screwed links instead of push pins is a nice detail. It's a tough watch with little to no rattle and slop. Cons: The lume is average to a little below average, IMO. Also, I don't like the cream colored dial, but that is a personal preference. I wish the bracelet was uniform in it's finish. The center links are polished. If you wear it often enough, the paint on the bezel markings will start to wear. I'm actually thinking about sending mine out to have some custom work done (case and bracelet refinishing and a lume job). If I can find a pic, I'll try to post it for you. --Steve Last edited on Wed Apr 2nd, 2008 11:21 am by steve6387 |

I have a Binnacle but it is the black face model. Here is a pic of mine in case you havent seen it. ![]() ![]() There is just sooooo much right about this watch. I would just be adding to what everyone else said positive about it. Funny, when I first got it I wasnt too happy with it but it is now one of my favorite watches. Got one of Freds Corsairs and SeaSharks aslo and lusting for a GlobeMaster but its a little too pricey for me right now. A great buy.

just remember Bernhardt Instruments and Bernhardt Watch are no longer the same company......you could have bought the Avier on JTV with stretch pay in choice of 3 dial colors in a radiant (slightly different dial) as minehand6.gif Attachment: Picture 009.jpg (Downloaded 70 times)

I have never "modded" a watch before...so if I don't like the dial (I love the case, bezel and bracelet) that this would be a good one to do it on.

$199. is a good price but remember the watch is just pushing 40mm so by today's dive watch standards it would be considered small and harder to sell imhowatch2.gif
