So, I'm sitting on the couch surfing while She Who Cooks is beside me watching the Cubs game on TV.  I go out to WatchBuys.com to check out the Sinn U1, one of my all-time grails.  I note the fact no miracles have taken place, the watch is still pricey, and for me, $1,660 is a chunk of change.  However, I rationalize, come September 1, a "significant" price increase is expected.  So I strategize.  I point out to the lady at my side that in some sense, $1,660 is a bargain.  This is an investment I say.  Just look at this awesome watch.

She replys, "Yahoo, the Cubs just hit a two run home."  I feel ignored.

So, I did what any immature, selfish 63 year old child would do...I went over to the MKII site and put a deposit down on the LRRP.  Just goes to show you, there's more than one bargain to be had.

Here's a pic from the MKII site:

Looking forward to your impressions on the LRRP.

'Course I don't think Bill Y has EVER built a watch that wasn't excellent!

Very nice, but have you told her that you actually ordered it? If that works I may try the same approach

Noop.

I thought I'd delay that particular part of the plan until the last possible moment.  After all, I value each breath I take.

Wonder how these two will compare, as Korsbek is planning a GMT model per the above design...quite similar, don't you think?

They look very similar.  I'm so aggravated at myself for not jumping on the OE when I had the chance.  I've been waiting for the details on the new Korsbek GMT and Oceaneer.  However, I'd read a lot about the expected price increases on the Korsbeks and was afraid that if, when announced, the price would be too high for me, the preoprder opportunity on the LRRP might be closed and I'd miss the boat again.  So, the LRRP it was.

For me, the LRRP will be a premium watch, as would be the Korsbek.  With either watch, I knew I'd be in pig heaven.
