I`ve been searching eBay after a Rolex Explorer 2. What do you guys think of buying this watch without all papers but with receipt from service. Is that good enough proof of authenticy? I always buy expensive watches face to face but it`s difficult to find used Explorer 2 in Norway.... Thanks for your advices friends

my free advice is to use paypal and take it directly to an AD and have the case-back opened and check it out asap after you receive it. it takes a keen eye these days to spot a fake. good luck!

agree with Mark....notta to the Bay on anything expensive...and for what most pre-owned dealers want for a Rolie you can buy one new from an AD and be sure you got what you paid for and have ease of mind hand6.gif

Contact these people...one of the largest sellers of preowned Rolex in the US. I have bought several from them (and a Cartier and a Brietling) and have them serviced there. They have 3 brick & mortar location in very exclusive areas (Worth AV, Palm Beach, FL - Boca Raton, FL - Sunny Isles, FL). They have been in business for about 20 years and I have dealt with them since 1992. I deal with a gentleman by the name of David Harry...in the Boca Raton location. "Buy the seller, not the watch". That's a very good rule in very few words. I never spend more than US$200 for a used watch, even if it's a little known vintage. It hurts a lot when you find out something about it down the road. Another referral would be http://www.watchseller.com. I got my Vollmer U5 brand new from them and they are pros, run by a father and son team. David is my usual contact over there.
