Well done Will! I should have tried that this past weekend when the temperature  reached -17 or  -33 Celsius with wind factor!!!  I'm sure it would have survived that too!:D  Marathon are great watches but I think we would be surprised to see that many watches would resist that kind of cold, even cheap watches, will have to try...

Thanks Dany! Yes I believe also that a bunch of good water tight automatics would have made it alive through a similar test.
The question is: Would have they clear it with only 2 seconds +/- difference in 24 hours?
Somes would have, somes would not...
Others would maybe had some inside condensation to freeze the mechanism at some point and stop the watch...
I made this test out of curiosity, but also to prove that a watch can be very reliable even it's cost is reasonnable...
But as I said: You can cross the north Pole with your watch on your wrist, under your jacket's sleeve and it would never suffer the cold as hard as mine did;)
Or you would have to be dead frozen...:D

Great test and a fun read! Not a bad Scotch either, maybe a little Highland Park next time?

That was a neat little story and some great pics. Living as I do in hot, humid Texas, you cannot imagine what I would give to live where you are. I'm glad your SAR passed the test.
