Going on week 5 on this one that i sent to SWI for repairmistake.gif They are still in the 6-8 week repair time frame, but for a $150 watch, I just assumed they would have sent out a new one....I know..never assume.

Can it really be worth the time to have a guy fix the thing?? mistake.gif

What's wrong with it? (the watch)

My average turn around with SWI has been 4-6 weeks. And, I have sent in a DOA watch, got it back DOA, and finally got another watch on a third try. I was ok overall with the process, but it did take quite awhile. Sent in my Corum Trap. for a new battery and it was about a month each time.

As a comparison, my wife has two friends that both bought watches from Nordstroms. The battery died in one and the other had a problem with the bracelet coming off (i.e. broken lug pin). I was dumbfounded when they both told me that Nordstroms gave them a 6-8 week lead time to make these "repairs." So, I wound up helping one buy a new watch to hold her over until her other watch came back with a new battery.

Tony, I sent my DOA Magico in per SWI's instructions. they received it on 8/2/06 and I had it back on 8/16/06. So that's been my experience. Of course, I had the customer service manger's name and email and rode him a bit and copied Lior on most everything so that pressure would come from both ends. My take was that a new watch DOA should be resolved ASAP and it seems they agreed. and yest they fixed the original in my case and I dare say that Magico ain't no Vostok. Strangley enough a day before the watch returned I got a return phone call from a voice mail I left the day the watch arrived DOA. If I had waited for that call...

So, be patient, be impatient and keep on them. Hope this is resolved to your satisfaction and darn soon too.
