Inside UV Watch CR2032 battery is the power source for the UV illuminator the Brown crescent shaped circuit is the switch and timer for the illuminator  Amber clear disk is an insulator isolating the 2 circuits  The battery for the Ronda movement can be easily changed and some of the gold plating on the movement can be seen  The case is thin from what you can see and but still has a screw in back that would help in not only being a cover but also a structural member. You can not see them but I had to clean the AR coating an the back of the crystal, just a hint do not use a cleaner that is not for anti reflective coatings.  The dial work is done well and 3 different processes the dial went through all were done precisely.   The circuits are welded together so I assume that the board is not serviceable and is to just be replaced when an open or a short occurs.  The white square on the end of the flexible ribbon is the UV illuminator.

TY Eric for the break-down of the UV...but what do all the parts do and mean to the function of the ultra violet lighting system?hand6.gif I see they are using a Ronda movement and That's as far as my tech experience goes!watch2.gif

I've seen UV advertise in the mags for about the past year. Unless I'm an idiot (perhaps?), their advertisements tell me nothing about what the UV means. Is the dial all luminous? Does it glow only in the presence of UV radiation? Does it have its own light source? Not for nothing, but they have these super expensive advertisements that tell me nothing! (we need a better 'confused' icon):?

Updates to post done:D The dial had luminous indicators and hands. They used paints that fluoresce with UV light also Marc, but the mineral crystal has so much UV coating on it the best way to get it to fluoresce is to use the battery power to turn on the UV illuminator for 2.5sec +/-.

Went back to look at my old post on UV watch and found the pics gone. To those that do not know if you del. pics off of your Photobucket account they also get zapped from the forum apparently. Never knew that so I repaired the post. Have a nice day.
