Their is no short cut to quality. If you buy a cheap bracelet, it will cheapen the watch.

The clasp for example and since you stated that you are cheap, you must own a seiko and noted their cheap stamped clasp, on Ball you will not see that. All their clasph are manufactured like their links.

So the answer to your question is yes you are a cheap bastard because at $220. the Ball bracelet is a bargain and if you were a true collector, you would only want the best for your watch because the complete package makes the presentation.

WOW!! How insulting...

When I refer to myself as a cheap bastard I consider that self deprecation. When established members give me sh*t I'll take it because we have an established relationship. As for you...

I wondered if you were insecure or just a pompous ass when you blew your watch wad all over our board... I wondered even further when you felt compelled to spout the prices of your pieces. Even this morning your proclomation of the grail of dive watches rubbed me the wrong way... I'll decide what's a grail in my mind.

Well, I wonder no more. You are clearly a prick and that means something coming from a stinking prick like me. Again...self deprecation!!

You obviously are a true collector with the means to aquire many fine pieces. Good for you and I wish you well as you move through this world.

Don't insult me again unless you develop a relationship with me... As far as I'm concerned it wouldn't be any loss for you to return to the other forums you seem to favor or have you worn out your welcome in those locations too??

Peace,

Pax

I have met Bill before and I must agree totally in your assessment of the man as a complete  prick.

You should have heard him crying like a bitch when I told him I didn't like his ridiculous Aquanautic Kind Cuda.

Ignore him

Pax listen to this, I was in the market for the Kobold SMG-1 and get the military discount like I have done in past years.  Every thing was cool until I figured out that the discount did not come with the Ti bracelet ($1100) and they discounted a few hundred, so I canceled the order and Michael just had to understand.  The $200 for a good bracelet is not that bad, but I wear NATO type straps on the ones that I do not want to spring for the bracelet.  I think you can autoclave a nato, maybe.  It would be cool to find out.

We're all Cheap Bastards in one way or another :D Nothing wrong with looking for a Bargain...I know I Do! hand6.gif So now that we have established that...Let's Play Nice and set a Good Post Count for members before we can call another member a "Cheap Bastard" unless of course we are calling ourselves Cheap Bastards :P...I believe in a good exchange and hopefully feel No one has intentionally intended to insult another and rather that we all just "Feel at Home on 3T"...Carry On! cool10.gif...yours Truly a "Cheap Bastard"

First, I was agreeing with Paxman's assessment of himself. If I insulted Paxman or defamed his name with my reply, I apolgize.

The Ball line of watches are excellent and at this point are coming into their own. Buying a Ball bracelet at this time would be an excellent investment and estically pleasant. In the long term should you decide to sell with the bracelet, you cannot lose, however, I have always considered my Ball a keeper and a key part of my collection.

You may want to go to http://www.watchadoo.com they have good bracelets at good value.

've been wanting a bracelet for my Ball Fireman and decided I would go to the source only to find the bracelet is $220 through Ball. I am a cheap bastard I guess becuase it seems ridiculous to me. I might have expected half that price. Prolem is, the Fireman is 21mm between lugs and I've been unable to find a bracelet of that size.

Am I too cheap...should I just through down the cha-ching and be done with it?

Or do any of y'all know were I could find a 21mm bracelet?

thanks for reading,

Pax

Apology accepted and I thank you for that. Please understand you are in the wrong place if you are going conduct yourself like Thurston Howell III. Contrary to the opinion of this forum voiced on other boards, we are a smart bunch and I think we have collectors here with collections to die for...  They just don't need to throw it in anyone's face... along with a price list... very sketchy. I would hope we can get beyond this but I would caution you to temper your proclomations with a little humility.

Peace,

Pax

The only cost effective alternative  that I can think about  are bracelets that are sold on http://www.watchadoo.com. They have  an link bracelet  where the end  links  can be ground  to fit the odd  size  lug, in this  case  21mm.  cost is usually under $100,

Good luck.
