Cannon.......................welcome to 3T and thank you for your comments. Not sure who you are or if your comments have a vested interest or not...I would hope not. To find that you are surprised to read criticisms of Oceans7 or any brand on a watch forum surprises me and arouses my curiosity. Your post sounds kind of like a marketing spiel, et al! There is praise and criticism a virally every brand on every reasonable forum (although one runs the risk of being flamed, if not banned, on WUS for criticizing Oceans7). Read the criticisms of Rolex, ZENO, Hamilton, et al....along with the praise. Different people have different opinions. I, for one, did email Oceans7, with a question. The curt, condescending reply (yes, it was quick), was what actually turned me off on the company. That opinion could change, as did my opinion of ORSA based upon improved performance. That said, hopefully, you will take this post in the light in which it is intended, and, unless your sole purpose for posting was to point out how wrong we might be, we look forward, we look forward to continued contributions from you on a variety of threads.

wheres cannons post? didn't get to read it. Hell, I'm not bashing ocean7 at all. just threw up my frustration with the g. The others on the drawing board look very good and may be one of my next buys. everybody has there own opinion of a dive watch. Mine are based on numerous buys of divers and wearing them, plus all the opinions that are posted good or bad here. You guys might not agree with what my opinion is, but thats how I learn with the input of other forum members, good or bad. this is a no stress hobbyhand6.gif I learned alot about the lm-1 from steves own experiance with the watch. Now I like it.

after some discussion with another admin I have decided to let other members see what Cannon had to post in regards to comments made here on 3T about the Ocean7...I found it to be abrasive and degrading to the members mentioned in his post as Berg,Enzo,Brent and yamahaki are members in very good standing on this forum and it is foremost important to 3T to protect it's members from those who come here to incite flames.:) Quote

To find that you are surprised to read criticisms of Oceans7 or any brand on a watch forum surprises me and arouses my curiosity. Your post sounds kind of like a marketing spiel, et al! Hello, well I will introduce myself again since my first post was deleted. I am new to this forum but not new to watch forums. I own or have owned many watches discussed. They include Doxa's, Kobolds, Ocean7's, Orsa's, Bathys, Timefactors, Everest's, Damasko's, Sinn's, Zeno's etc... I have shared my opinions on watches I have owned on many forums. I share the good and bad. I have no vested interest in Ocean7 or any other brand. However I do have a problem with individuals who bad mouth or put down watches or brands based nothing more than on speculation. I decided to post in this thread originally because I took offense to people posting personal opinions as facts. I have learned through private messages that because I mentioned brands whose owners are friends with the owner of this forum my post was deleted. It's a real shame that an open discussion can't take place here. Ken, I personally would love to read the email that was sent to Ocean7 and their response that turned you off on the company. Any chance you can share it?

Cannon wrote: Cannon you are on a slippery slope right now with one foot out the door and another on a banana peel:D...open discussion is one thing but as you took offense to opinions of the Ocean7 which were both sided you replied with outright speculation on brands that were discussed here the same as Ocean7...difference is the owners of those companies came on in response as gentlemen and never even as much mentioned their competition as you have ..not to mention chastising a member in good standing for his opinion! and furtermore how about telling us your username on WUS Ocean7 fora so we know who you are instead of joining here under and assumed alias??? KenC wrote:

Well said Oscar! very well said. Look at the Orsa. That was a very heated deal for awhile, but look at all of the watches that are now being traded and sold here! The owner steps in and fixes a error, without trashing anyone, and all of us stepped back in surprise and respect for the man. most of the watches that were stated in cannons post are great watches to me, maybe not to someone else. I'm open for debate on any issue without putting my ego into it. If you feel something needs to be said, say it.

Cannon wrote: KenC wrote: No..............I really don't have that email (i'm not a saver), but I can paraphrase it for you. I sent an email that said I had just found the WUS Oceans7 site, and while I was not interested in the LM-1. The LM-2 design was intriguing to me (especially as a Glycine fan). I asked to be notified when it was released or to put me on a waiting list for one (sort of a pre-order thing) as I was interested in getting one. I received a reply back that I thought was curt and condescending if not arrogant. The reply was words to the effect that Oceans7 did not maintain a waiting list, and if I wanted a watch I could keep checking the forum like everybody else! That said, I find people who bad mouth our forum members as to their watch knowledge and experience based on nothing more than speculation and then turn around and decide that their opinions are fact and the opinions of others are merely opinions somewhat offensive myself. Yes, your intial post was briefly deleted because it was abrasive in the way you attacked members and vendors based soley on your opinion (which I guess you consider fact) and because it was blatantly promotional to the point that Oscar and I wondered if your were an Oceans7 employee. We then decided to repost it. As to open discussions, we have plenty here. The discussion of Oceans7 is open. You just didn't like it because it didn't reflect your opinion. I think certain brands suck that others love.....I, for one, do not think I would ever own an Omega (well, maybe a vintage) because I find their design mundane and uninspired. Most, vehemently disagree with me. So, should I blast them for being closed minded? Your opinion about this forum and its owners are just that......your opinions. If you had taken time to really see what goes on in this forum, you would see that regardless of the owner's relationship with ORSA, that brand has been flamed from time to time. On the other hand, one of our admins praises Oceans7 to the hilt. Bottom line, look in the mirror and talk to that guy about having an open mind and a little respect for the this forum. If you can convince him that is the right road to travel, then you are welcome here. If not, you may enjoy yourself much more on a forum where people agree with you rather than having to put up with reading alternative points of view.

Hi Ken, Now that my original post has been put back up can you give specific examples from the post of how I bad mouthed members? What specifically was offensive? How did I "bash" Orsa, Enzo and Scorpion?

Cannon wrote: Hi Ken, Can I? YES! ...............will I?...NO! If you cannot figure it out, this is not the right forum for you. You came on with a negative attitude, accused us of being unfair and non-factual....then you accuse us of being close-minded. You seem to simply want to "fight"........ Again, perhaps this is not the forum for you....This particular discussion is at an end.

I think I can answer that one this would be a quote from you. Finally I find it ironic that Yamahaki you write " I won't be buying an Asianese watch." when it looks like you own several. The Orsa's and Enzo's both were made with Asian parts. In fact the Enzo you are so impressed with looks to be made by the same company that is making the upcoming LM-3. Although the Enzo's asking price is over $1000 and the LM-3 is $499. The LM-3 with the custom bezel and anodized dial look to be a steal. If I were you I wouldn't say that you would rather buy a timex. With 7 upcoming Ocean7 models you never know if you will change your mind and want one down the road. Enzo's watches aren't over 1000.00 bucks. maybe to you they are. To me, since I'm nice and talk to him, there at a very steep discount. So are the Orsa's from Martin. If you can look at the threads on both forums you will find that the Enzo is not asian, and orsa isn't either. This post was started about the g series and the nivrel comparison. Nivrel is a well respected and long standing brand. Thats the crux of this post, this thread evolved very well, with input from our own mod Steve giving us his input, and we all listened. The only bashing that happened was from you.
