Hey Guys, I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm back from the cottage where the weather was perfect!!! woohoo.gif So - to the question .... How do you store your watches? In a safe? In watch boxes? I'm getting a little frustrated with my watch storage situation ... I have all of my watches jammed into a safe - which is great for security, but terrible for accessibility! Watch boxes don't fit in my safe either, so they all end up in small little boxes on their own - which is super annoying. How do you guys get around this problem?

One 4 head winder with storage for 6 more. One 3 head winder. One single winder. And a variety of boxes... need to add some. Anything worth more than 1k is insured. I need to get a safe for those times when I am away...

As a WIS' collection grows storage is always an issue to deal with...collector cases and storage units work best and I have several 24 slot as well as 2 to 12 slot cases but even they start to pile up:D...but when does a collection become unmanageable? My problem is storing the original carriages and marking them according to which watch came in them not to mention all the straps I have collected...one of these days I'll get organized ...so my advice is start organizing while your collection starts and continue as it grows hand6.gif I am not only a watch addict but a WIS procrastinter as well :P

I use 6 ( I've slimmed down to 30 watches) 5 slot cherrywood box's and then I have a toolbox with big slideout drawer's that lock up tight ...It would be impossible to take the toolbox ... and it would take awhile to break into it .... along with the fact I have 3 big dogs

At last count I had around 200 vintage and modern wristwatches and another 30 RR grade pocket watches. I store them in watch cases that hold about 20 watches each, those are stored in a large safe. My wife calls it the "watch refrigerator". I then have a database with each watch individually numbered, the cases are labeled with the numbers of the watches so it is pretty easy to find something.

In this... (old pic, watches not current collection). I have two of these boxes. One in the ensuite and one on my night table. When I travel, they go into the safe. Attachment: open.jpg (Downloaded 35 times)
