Anybody out there have the Rotary two time zone reversible dial? The one that flips open from the cradle and swivels around to reveal a separate dial? It's time to change the battery and I don't have a clue. The Rotary instructions that came with the watch (got it from SWI) don't explain the process and I could not find instructions on the Rotary web site either. Any help or directions much appreciated!!

Did you not get a card with a phone number for SWI? They should be able to help you with that. Addin contact info http://www.rotarywatches.com/uk/worldwide.html Last edited on Tue Aug 7th, 2007 12:50 pm by Skipdawg |

Could you post a pic? I'm not familiar with the case although I have seen them at Sam's Clubhand6.gif I would think it pops open between the cases somewhere ...not sure if 1 battery powers both dials?watch2.gif Maybe OldeCrow or Avery has some experience with these:cool:. edit: I see in the pic on the site Skip posted that there are 2 screws on the top of the case...I would unscrew those and see if the movement slides out:)

Those aren't screws, they're the spring loaded studs that snap the case into place and hold it from flopping open. I think each of the movements comes out seperately thru the front of the case-- they each must have a split stem to remove the stem & crown first.

Guess I will try a local jeweler and see if he knows how to change the battery. Look at this response from SWI: Due to the complication of changing the battery on this watch and warranty issues we cannot give out the information on how to change the battery. Please send us your watch so that we may do the battery change for you. Follow the steps below in sending us your watch. · DO NOT PUT “SWISS WATCH INTERNATIONAL” ON THE PACKAGE, WRITE “SWI, ATTN: CUSTOMER SERVICE" ·[size= ]Send your watch or winder via insured or registered mail with sufficient insurance to cover the original purchase price. ·[size= ]Make sure your complete name and address including ZIP Code (where you would like the product to be sent back to) appear on the package return address label and are also included inside the package. ·[size= ]Enclose a complete explanation of the nature of the problem so that the correct repairs will be made and include a telephone number in case we need to reach you. ·[size= ]Pack the watch or winder securely to avoid damage in transit. Do not send it in its display box. These boxes are discarded upon receipt and cannot be returned. ·[size= ]IF STILL UNDER WARRANTY: Enclose a copy of your sales slip along with a check or money order made to SWI for $10.00 per product to cover the cost of handling, mailing and insurance. Shipping cost will be waived if purchase is within 30 days and proof of purchase is sent (The warranty may be void on products showing evidence of extreme use or evidence of moisture and/or rust.) ·[size= ]IF NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY: You will receive an estimate, and no repairs will be made until we receive your approval of charges. If you decide not to have the repairs made, a $10.00 return shipping charge will still be assessed. Post-warranty movement repairs are guaranteed for a period of one year. · If[size=] more than one product (watch or winder) is being shipped, enclose a packing list of the package contents and retain a copy for your records. ·[size= ]Allow 4 to 8 weeks for repairs. Estimated time for return of repaired goods cannot be given for watches or winders needing back ordered parts or special repair procedures. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you coyote2.gif

Now that is what I call a pain in the butt battery changing process. Something that should take no more than 5 minutes to do they want you to be without your watch for weeks or months. Shoot I'd expect them to pay me. LOL :D ;)
