What type of fame do you most like your movements designed around and why?

       1. full plate,
       2. three-quarter plate, or
       3. frame with bridges

This is just the type of cooler talk that goes on in a room of designers, I was just interested in your thoughts.

I would like one of each if possible but 3/4 plate is something I like as well as a full bridge....what I have seen of a full plate frame is with the balance wheel on a seperate plane in pre 1900 wristwatch...all 3 were heavily engraved and probably way out of my price rangehand6.gif ....aren't all 3 more common to older watches and and which is used more often in todays market besides in high end watches like A.Lange & Sohne,Patek ?

They exist in all price ranges of watches.

The full plate is the cheapest and the most durable.  Hard to service when it comes to setting the back plate.

The 3/4 is simply a full plate with the balance assembly exposed for easy service and inspection( the English made famous but the Swiss love it too ).  I have that Nomos that I got from IW, but if you look you will find them everywhere.

Bridged is the weakest design but very revealing (most Russians chrono's and Swiss watches).

They are the only 3 ways to frame a movement that I know of.

There are exceptions to every generalized rule.
