I have been happy with my International Watchman, and I also got good CS.  I have only bought one watch from him though.  I just do not wear watches that are that large.

While this is an old thread, I thought I'd update on the specifics of my quest. :D

Since about October, I have been seeking the ulitmate in Panerai homage and have sought far and wide for that perfect watch. This forum was instrumental in many aspects of that search and the education on different specifics that make Panerai...well, a Panerai. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a International Watchman...but decided to excercise patience and keep searching.

I have been to so many forums sometimes I forget which one I'm on. I have seen pretty much all of them....homage, replicas that look like utter crap and replicas that were so amazing in detail it was almost mind blowing in their execution.

My focus has been homage, I'm not a big fan of replica anything. I believe in giving credit where credit is due in that respect. A great homage on the other hand I personally find, acceptable.

They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and when executed well...makes it worth while. I wanted to get your impression on this one in question. I have been very impressed with the parts and labor placed into it.

This was the first attempt above using a JimmyFu watch case that apparently is the pinnacle for great homage or replicas alike. I believe a standard Swiss ETA 6497-1 was used for this one above.

Then....he pulls this out! face4.gif

To create....THIS!

I believe, I have found what I'm looking for. ThumbsUp02.gif

I concur... you have found what you're looking for. I love the sandwich dial and the Hamilton movement is simply delicious icing on the cake. I am diggin it. If you have a moment how about a PM with more details... like how does a guy get one? TIA!

Wow. That's the best PAM homage that I've ever seen with the HAMILTON movement.

Congrats!!!

Where did you get it from and how much did you pay for it?

Kindly PM me the details if you don't mind.

TIA

-Nando

I hope I'm not breaking any trust barriers with divulging information on price but here are the specs on price etc....Personally, considering the craftmanship applied, etc....I find the prices acceptable.

post content removed....seller of these watches is a known replica dealer/modder

Thanks for the information and for the PM.

It's a little pricey but I'm sure it's worth it.

It's a nice homage...but a very important fact has been left out about the seller of these homages and that is he is a known replica dealer/modder....so with that said I would say buyer beware!:D....I have never seen a Hammy pocket watch movement(Unitas 6497) that was not signed "Hamilton U.S.A" or "Hamilton,Lancaster P.A." (note this one is not)and it would be just as easy for a replicater to stamp out a movement saying "Hamilton" as it would "Panerai" and sell it for a astronomical price(if it were a much lower price it may be worth owning)but a replica that doesn't state a name on the dial but on the movement only is still a replica imho.....if I'm wrong I apologize but call me "better safe than sorry" as I would stick to a homage made by someone with a rep other than rep-lica!:D:D:D

I was unaware of that fact and consider it important to know.

Question, due to all the information on this topic and what has been learned...what would, in the forum members opinion...be an ACCEPTABLE price for this creation? Personally I'd prefer a true ETA swiss movement....:?
