OK. So, my name is RAL and I am an addict... After posting my philosophical e-mail asking for comments on my GMT grail, stating that I was over daily deals, sales forums and other kind of offers, I found one I could not resist. By the way, did not get any replies to that posting :(. So let me introduce my new Philip GMT. Photos are courtesy of the seller and are from the actual watch, which should get to me in a week or so. ETA 2893 inside, with a very nice GMT implementation. The whole inner dial with the cities turns, so time does not need to be adjusted when traveling over multiple time zones, so fairly useful for those like me that are on the road a lot. ![]() ![]() ![]()

40 mm, so not on the large side. However, as the bezel is narrower than the dive style, the dial should be decently sized.

Interesting watches. I've contemplated getting one myself a few times.

I like the look of that GMT...I do own two Phillip watches both are the Admirale model one is the 47mm case V7750 and the other is the the 44mm V7750 both run fantastically..... and Phillip watch is part of Sector, they have great service... and they have an office and showroom in NYC, .... very nice people to deal with. Wow that dial is far too busy for my tired eyes!! This is a long way from the Co-Axial Omega you mnetioned in your previous post. DeBaufre is having a nice special ($485) on their GMT models at the moment. Great price for a Swiss Made GMT. http://store.debaufre.com/GMT-s/5.htm

Did not get instead of the Omega, just another "previous" addition to the collection (the Coaxial GMT movement in the Omega starts with a 2893 Ebauché...). It has, though, one of the missing characteristics in the Omega: you do not see many of these out there! I think the dial is busy, but it gives me a "Navitimer" impression without being a copy/homage or even similar at all. I do not know if there are to many watches out there with an inner rotating dial like this one, maybe I just did not pay attention before. The one I saw is the Patek Philippe World Time (not suggesting any kind of comparison...). I like the concept of not adjusting it every time I deplane. Nothing against the Debaufré, but it is a bit too close to Rolex to me. Paid price is less than the price of the movement alone, around 1/3 of the "Deb" on sale. THAT I could not resist... the Philip having a eta 2893 is a bonus and should give you years of service especially if you got it for around $150....Congrats! yourock.gif ...there is a huge difference though between a true GMT and a world timer dial/bezel...with a true GMT hand you can tell the time of your 2nd timezone at a glance....not so easy with a world timer dial or bezel due to how busy it is.... which btw has to rotate in order to set your secondary time zone hand6.gif
