When most of us think about Omega Grail Watches, the name Speedmaster 321 comes to mind. However, if you're an aficionado of the Seamaster then you're in for a real treat. Introduction: The year was 1952 when Omega first placed the script "Seamaster" on the dial. It was referenced as 2577-3SC which meant that the watch had a Center Second Hand, as opposed to Sub-Second. It was a 17 Jewel Bumper Wind Automatic with 19,800 bph. The other model was known as the Omega 420, a 17 Jewel hand wound watch with 18,000 bph. The main difference is that this watch had no Seamaster script and was referenced as the 2647-1. Prior to 1952 all Omega watches had either Omega or Omega Automatic,on the dial. By 1953 Omega had released the caliber 355, this too was a bumper wind automatic movement, the main difference was that it was a modified caliber 354 with the date at the six-o-clock position. This model was referenced as the 2627-8SC. In 1954,saw the birth of the Omega Constellation 354 this watch was known as the 2652-2SC. The 354 movement was modified to meet Chronometer Observatory requirements. From 1933-1957 Omega had won more Awards for Achieving the highest Chronometer Observatory Regulation for accuracy,then any other watch company. (The record still stands today,according to Omega). About My 1954 Omega 354 Seamaster Ref.2577-9SC: Reference 2577-9SC with 17 Jewel Bumper Wind Automatic Movement 19,800 bph with swan-neck regulator. The dial is a lacquered two-tone silver dial with Daphine Watch hands lined with applied arrow indices and Arabic Numbers at the 9-12-3 and 6 positions,are also applied. The Omega logo is applied with Omega Automatic script underneath the 12. The Seamaster script is stylized and is written slightly above the 6. At the bottom of the 6,it is marked with T-Swiss Made-T. With no patina showing anywhere on the dial. The watch is in original condition with no signs of aging. The crown is the clover-leaf design without the Omega emblem and the crystal is in mint condition. The watch originally came with an after market, thin gloss black crocodile grain leather strap with an after market silver buckle. I replaced it with an after market 18 mm mesh bracelet with the fold over clasp. Since Omega no longer make mesh bracelets for 354 Seamasters, I felt that by adding this bracelet it would give the watch a correct period look and feel. The watch is Stainless Steel with stainless steel mesh bracelet. Most definitely Jeff,without a doubt that I would wear this watch in good health. Consider the length of time finding such a pristine vintage Omega and the price I had to pay... but that in itself is another story. Thank you. Cheers, Simon

Though a bit on the small side by today's standards, this looks to be an amazing find. The mesh really sets it off imho. Very nice Simon and do enjoy.
