This is a Seiko originally born as model SNKE61. It is part of the Seiko 5 family and is about 39mm wide, it is has the standard 7s automatic movement that does not hack or handwind. It is a simple timepiece but it is also a great base for some simple customization. If one has some familiarity with watches he will immediately figure out the similarity with another famous and much more expensive watch. This however is totally coincidental. subtlelaugh.gif

I liked the looks and thought I could make something by getting some hands and dial together into a case with a Seiko movement in it. I kind of like the result. Thumbsup3.gif

I have not worn the watch at all yet as I am still wearing another custom watch I just made (more on this later...) but it works, it has some lume, not super but seems pretty OK and definitely enough to read the time at night. It normally comes with a folded links bracelet, which is actually quite nice looking, but I did not feel like re-installing it after the job and I wanted to try out this new strap anyway. This is a real Bond regimental Nato strap... yes apparently the original strap worn by 007 in a famous scene where he shows the time of his Rolex on such strap using a lighter, had this color combination.

Anyway, I thought that maybe others may like this combination and therefore I thought to share some quick photos. Sorry for the specks of dust that always seem to find their way on my photos...

Please enjoy. ThumbsUp02.gif

ThumbsUp02.gif very well done!

I have not seen the SM300 dial with PO hour and minute hands before, and the all-red seconds hand was a very nice addition.

Wear it in great health!

Cheers - Ian

Thanks a lot everyone for the kind words. I am really glad to share the photos and ideas on watches and if other appreciate these then it is even better for me as I know that they are worth something.

I have yet to wear this as I have been completing another project... soon to come... Thumbsup3.gif

Nice Carlott!
I like the all stuff...Got good access to the crown to screw it off?
Where did you get this dial? I have a HARD time to put my hands on a cool military 28.5mm dial non-dated fitting eta mvts like 2801-2...

Thank you very much. This dial comes from Yobokies, it is made for Seiko's however I am sure you can remove the feet and install it on a ETA movement if you want. However, if you are looking for military type dials, you may want to check out Ofrei. See this link here for their dials for the ETA 2801 movement:

http://www.ofrei.com/page1193.html

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Here are a couple of other mod's I did using this same base model watch and different dials/hands combinations, the dials are all 28.5mm made for Seiko Automatic movements:

Dial from Noah:

Dial from Yobokies:

Dial from MKII

The crown is not screw down, just push in. It is kind of small and not easy to use especially for my big hands. Fortunately you can adjust the watch so that you don't need to use it much at all. LOL

I know about Otto and was there some days ago, found a dial and found out that I couldn't use Paypal... For so little as a dial, taking out all credit-card infos, it's ennoying.oh my.gif
I don't want to cut feets of dials to glue them on my ETA: It's dirty work in my eyes...
Thanks for the tips anyway!
