I got this Traser Thursday. Darn nice watch for the money I paid. I used to own a number of Luminox watches and I wanted to have one again. So, I tried Traser this time. On first impression, the Traser is better made with greater precision. The second hand actually hits the seconds marks on the button. None of my Luminox's did that. It always bugged me.

The bracelet feels a bit less substantial, but it was super easy to size and wears well on the wrist. Solid end links are used and it has an engraved clasp. Its just not as supple as I'd like (such as my Seiko Knights). 316 surgical steel case size is 43mm, 22mm lugs. Sapphire crystal, and nicely done dial work too. Battery life should be 4-5 years.

The luminous gas tubes are good for 25 years. I seem to remember the brightness being a bit better on my luminox watches (one model in particular). But, in a dark room the time is very legible and easy to see. The dot at 12 o'clock is  a nice feature.

All-in-all, it is a very well built watch. I can see why the brand is so popular with military, police, etc. It looks like it could take some abuse. I am very happy with it.

Very nice indeed, Mike. The Traser's seems a notch above the Luminox's to me. I particularly like the styling on this one... it doesn't screan "TRASER" from 50 paces and the dial is super clean and legible while providing both 12 and 24 hour indices. A very nice pickup indeed!!

Enjoy the watch!!

Pax

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I know that being a Swiss Quartz movement it won't cut the mustard for some here, but it is a heck of a nice watch for the money invested. And, I know I can get the money back out of it should I ever want to sell it. All of my used Luminox watches sold for good prices on ebay.

Its nice to have a couple of nice Quartz watches that you can just reach for and wear without futzing with them. The Traser is unique enough to garner some attention too. The thing you can almost see in my wrist shot is the staggard, deep inner bezel. It gives the watch a somewhat 3-D effect. Very cool. You can drop a strap on this one too and get a totally different look.

For those who don't know, Traser also makes some automatic watches with the Swiss 2824 ETA movement. They are priced  at  $350 to $400. Very reasonable and quite handsome.
