I was Inspired by Doc's new Seiko to share a couple of my latest conquests!

I couldn't remember If I posted the BM or not so I will post it.

I've been at this "whatch nut" thing for a long time and it took me untill this October to finaly get a Black Monster. eeeh I can live without it but at least now it's part of the Seiko collection ;)

Also a gently used White Knight arrived yesterday! I had to boot a watch out of the top of my display box to make room smile4.gif

Nice, Chris.....................still have my BM, but sold the WK some time ago.  It really is a super watch, but to me, white & silver dials are for dress.  Since I do nothing all day except hang out on the front stoop in skivvies and an undershirt, sucking down Budweiser and melting crayons, I feel a need to stick to the black, blue, orange and yellow varieties of this addiction!!! toon1.gif BTW............still have my Orange Knight....hell of a watch!

lol thanks O and Ken, I still don't have a single Orange watch! The Orange Knight would definitely fit the bill though!

I really bought the White Knight to pirate the black hands for my A35 but It turns out I kinda like the black hands where they are....:?

Gotta love the Seikossmile4.gif  I'm not a Diver kinda guy but I must admit that the white dial is attractive......

I'm surveying folks about the camera and equipment they use to get such FANTASTIC macro shots and closeups.  What setup to you use?

My Camera is an old well used Canon G1 I like it for macro stuff because it has a lcd preview window that makes it handy for macro stuff. I shoot in macro mode with the camera on delay and set to take three shots at different exposures.

the delay assures that I am not touching the camera when it shoots (so no motion blur) and the different exposures give me three chances to take a photo that looks like I know what I'm doing smile4.gif

occasionaly I get a really good picture out of it smile4.gif

I don't have a light box but I have two lit architects lamps and I tape a piece of tabloid paper to each of them to give me some diffuse light.

Thanks.  It is seeming that people are using higher end SLR type digitals for the macros that look terrific.  Older or not your camera took some very nice photos.
Thanks.

If you are interested in taking macro photos don't get anything over a 6 mega-pixel camera above that the 8 mega pixel cameras use the same hardware as the 6 but do some extra extrapolation so they are kind of a fake 8 mega pixel.
The newer 10 mega-pixel cameras use different hardware and they are not capable of taking as good of a macro as a 6 mega pixel or lower cameras.

My dad has a Nikon D70 which I think is a 6 mega pixel but its an slr so it doesn't have a preview function on the lcd.  It does however take remarkably good macro photos and it's auto focus is much better than my dads eyes so it still takes better photos than he got useing the canon g1 with the lcd!

@Pax

I am not a member of the monster fan club... I'm still not.
I realize that some people are charmed by the idea of zero form and all function but I prefer a 50/50 ballance in watch design. Still it is a required piece of the seiko collection so now I have it.
