So...I went with the Croton, 200m retro 70s looking, silver dialed case ala seiko 6105ish look. Box was flimsy leather...said "Quartz" when the watch is in fact automatic... hour hand off by 5 minutes... e.g. not spot on the hour til minute hand is on the 5 min. mark. Overall case looks weak unlike Invicta who at least gives off that 20,000 dollar "look." Watch looked like an $80 variety. Sapphire glass lacked that "sapphire" appearance. I won't do Croton again... The made in China sticker on the box was telling.

I can still here the smooth tele-seller-guy "J172464" The "gents" Croton!!!!!

Sorry to hear of your bad Croton experience, Eric. I was almost tempted by the orange model. I do have a Croton that actually was a great deal and a real nice watch but don't doubt you got a loser... I'm not sure where the watches are made and I wouldn't doubt it is China, but I am guessing the sticker on the box was referring to the box itself.

You did the right thing by sending it back.

Hey Fellas! This was my speediest return ever...the box was still cool upon my arrival to the post office. I had this watch in my posession for less than 11 minutes.  It just lacked that substantial feel one expects from such a big watch.  Too thin as well, I like a bit of height on the case as well.  I am sure some of their watches are awesome..this one was not for me. Someone else may rave about it. Who knows. ;-)

Hey Gaspar! I thought about it...it would have looked nicer less blingini, but...I was already turned off. I kept seeing Skelton...laughing whilst giggling in that manly way " J172464!!"  So I had to run to the Post Office.  This seiko is 45mm and huge from what I see...it dwarfs the Marine Master,  which is one of my dream watches.  I will let you guys know when I receive the Seiko.

I agree James, I have seen better from them. I guess I was underwhelmed to say the least. It looked really great on my TV at 1am.  The dial looked like it sat deeper in the case. It was too shallow looking up close and for this size, not thick enough..  Waiting on my Seiko 6r15. Will def. post pix upon arrival.
