No offense here Hucky. Under normal circumstances I'd probably be checking that out, but we decided to drop cable awhile back and just use Netflix and Hulu. On a side note... I'm going to the Armys level 1 combatives course next week and it's all Brazilian Ju-Jitsu based.

Brazilian Ju-Jitsu rocks! My only training was in Savate, little known here though.

Hey Brice, my younger brother is a 4th Degree in Goshin Jujitsu which focuses on "parking lot defense" situations, it's all about self defense, he's been into it for probably 35 years.  I know Savate plays a big part in it.

I think Brazilian Ju-Jitsu is great, but not the end all be all. I'm still looking forward to this since I've been trying to get this school for 5 years. My background is Shorin-Ryu Karate. I've heard of Savate, but don't know anything about it. Care to elaborate?

Savate is also called Boxe Francaise, or French Boxing where one uses both hands and feets to hit the opponent, and also a cane/baton. Some also included knife handling though more form a defensive standpoint. Supposedly it was a form of fighting originated on the docks, used by marine merchants long long ago. Fighters do not hold each other and keep their distance to hit the opponent with high kicks for example.
They have in the past years added ground work/grappling though it was not included when I did.

Gotcha. Sounds familiar now that you've described it, but can't seem to figure out where I've come across it. It sounds interesting nonetheless.
