Some pictures of my Columbus Watch Co. pocket watch. This one was made in 1894 at a factory in Columbus, Ohio started by Dietrich Gruen. An excellant history can be found here: http://www.thewatchguy.com/pages/GRUEN.html This is a 16 size in a nickeloid case with 15 j. and lever set: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Scott, 16 Size refers to the size of the actual movement of the watch...if I remember right a 16 size movement is about 43mm. It had nothing to do with the overall size of the watch with the case, just the movement. This was the most popular size for Railroad Grade pocket watches. A 10 size is very, very close in size to a 6497 movement about 38mm, you will see these size Hamilton movements in some of the Pam Homage watches

Those older pocket watches are very cool. Both of my grandfathers carries pocket watches. No idea what ever happened to them after they passed on.

Nabco wrote: Not sure what you are asking regarding points 1,2,3 You say a size 10 or 16. What determines this number? I know you say its the size of the movement but what does the # represent. You say a 10 is a 38mm so i would think that number of each increment (I called points) in size would equal 3.8mm.... 10x3.8=38mm. That doesnt work though, the 16 would be a 16x3.8=60.8mm. Do you understand what I am asking?
