The jewel question seems to be an error on the vendor's site. I am guessing the tech spec which states SW200 is correct and they have missed he correct jewel count. One way to be sure... contact the vendor.:D

Thx Pax, that's exactly what I did.  I sent an email 15min. ago and will see.  Now, with that said, I personally think that there is nothing wrong with the Sellita movement, which is an almost identical copy of the ETA 2824, as precise and also Swiss made.  I understand that being a copy, Sellita doesn't have the merit of developing it and I also prefer the ETA but I think it will become THE movement once Swatch Group stops selling their movements at the end of 2010.  If I have to chose between a Chinese copy or a Swiss copy, well I don't even have to think about it, I chose Sellita.  I have one watch with this movement (Invicta 9937) and it's been at +2 sec a day for the last three years so...

Pax, I must be blind because I cannot see anywhere on their site that the watch uses a Sellita movement? mistake.gif

I have no idea DM71 where you are getting the idea that Swatch is going to stop selling etas?....they are only going to stop selling the blanks better known as Ebauches but will continue selling complete movements!....the Sellita is just another copy now....use the search engine here on 3T to do a little research...this discussion about Sellita and eta is old news here hand6.gif

ETA has not only fullfiiled all orders through 2009... they have more than enough to go around through 2010 and will continue to sell complete eta movements outside of Swatch Group after 2010....they just don't want anyone getting hold of their blanks so they can complete them with Asian parts and give the company a bad name! ...now this may be bad news for many Swiss companies that have built their own Calibers on eta ebauches because they will now have to buy complete movements if they are outside of the Swatch Group so there are many companies developing their own movements to be able to stay competetivewatch2.gif

Thanks for this info Oscar, I indeed missed on the fact that they would just stop selling Ebauches, my mistake:).  So this mean that we will still see those popular ETA movements for years to come, which is a good news.  There is so many people on panic button out there saying that we have to buy watches with Unitas and ETA or Valjoux before they're not available anymore:?...Happy to hear that this is not the case since a lot as been said on that subject and was not sure what to believe or not... hand6.gif

Thanks Jeep99dad, I was just scrolling the info without clicking on the button, got it now!  So it looks obvious they made a mistake with the 25 jewels.  It's clear now.ThumbsUp02.gif

some of the best news out of Basel this year and in Swiss watchmaking is the race to develop new calibers that will replace the eta 2892 and Val.7750 which are used by most brands and Breitling,Longines and Tissot are leading the way in developing these new engines...many of the high end brands already have in house engines powering their watches due to the fact that ETA will only be delivering finished movements from 2011...ETA has been reducing the number of blanks they were selling since 2002 and will be completely out of that business by the end of 2010 leaving many watch companies looking for alterantive engines because as I mentioned they relied on ETA for the ebauches to build their own calibers on hand6.gif
