stripped stem or stripped case?

basically, is the screw down crown not seating in the case; or is the the crown not threaded properly on the stem?

If its a screw down crown, the crown tube will need to be replaced; usually by manufacturer. Happens to my Oris dive watch about every 18 months.

If its the crown on stem, you'll just need a new stem and crown.

Thanks O but unfortunately it is the Gevril.:( I had a watch guy "Rolex trained" clean what I thought was a smudge under the crystal. Good news is the scratch on the dial turned out to be a piece of linthand6.gif but now I have this problem. I would take it back to him, but I do not trust him. He jerked around for 8 weeks with my JL Chrono before fixing it on the 3rd time.

I will take it to Universal watch Co. advertises in IW and other mags. Does restorations on watches as high end as Patek from around the world. Might costs me a bit, but .....just in case I want to trade or sell it, I want it right;)

BTW, do you have a lug screw for an Invicta 9937?? My brother needs one?
