As i had posted in a prior thread on this puppy, I love the watch overall, some real nice design touches but a tad bit budy maybe... part of my lioked the other older Triton better yet if i'd buy one, it'd be this one somehow... something appeals to me. Just don't have the $560euros yet...) Now i gotta get plugged in this AquaLuna 2 story...

Thanks for all the great replies guys...I ALWAYS like to hear your guys excellent comments on all that is WIS...and honestly appreciate everyone throwin' in their honest opinion!!! ...just one of the many things that makes 3T a great place to hang out...hand6.gif I definitely tend to fall for a watch that has a design that trends more toward the "classic", less busy design side, so I agree with alot of the comments made that note the dial is a bit busy...there is just something about the way this entire design melds together that I really like though...I'm just totally lovin' it!! (like you guys...all IMO...the WIS kingdom would be a very boring place if everyone shared the same opinion...so it is truly all good woohoo.gif). I'll try to reply to some of your posts individually below.

I agree with the comparison comments to the upcoming Aqualuna 2...I remember thinking back on that one not knowing which design really became the "winner"...the Aqualuna 2 is definitely one that I will keep my eyes out for in 2010. Like you, that extra HEV design element with the orange accented HEV valve highlight that plays off the orange in the dial really caught my attention...really love that!!!hand6.gif I have a feeling that 2010 will end with this one in the watch box somehow... -Chris

I hear you Ken....I had been anxiously awaiting the new Pilot from Debaufre...when the new Aero Gent Officer pilot model was revealed...I have to admit I was let down by the design path that had been taken. But...I have to admit that I'm really liking some of the new pilot designs coming out of Steinhart...the thing that has been the biggest surprise for me is the (apparently deliberate) different design paths that Debaufre and Steinhart seem to be taking going into the 2010 models. They are really departing from each other much more than in the past where historically the "brand" marking was the only significant difference between the watch models. I could go for a Pilot GMT model from this brand in a heartbeat!!!

There is not one thing I would change and I can assure you that you will read my review on this one in 2010! This is the nicest diver ever made by this company IMHO. It's a winner!!! I'm with you Daniel...Man, have I told you that you have excellent taste in timepieces!!!!!;) :D Cannot wait to read your review!!!hand6.gif...I have a hard time believing that 2010 will close without this one finding a place into my watch box as well.

Hey Stew i am a big fan of Steinhart and have one on order but when it came to the Triton I just felt the new Orsa that is coming out was too close in looks and offered a much better value! Just my feeling on it, but if it sings to you by all means buy it and post some watch porn for us all to enjoy!yahoo.gif

I have to say that I'm REALLY watching this one. The aesthetics are HOT! yourock.gif The "busy" dial doesn't bother me since I don't need a tool diver. The various finishes and materials look great too, right down to the beautiful brushed clasp. But what really gets my attention is that this beast is only 14mm thick and weighs less than 200g! you guys will know better than me, but I don't think I've seen another boutigue diver hit 1000m that's this thin and light. I could actually wear it without buffing up my left arm! ![]() I know that there are folks that like their divers to be thick n' heavy, but I'm personally moving away from that myself. So this new Triton is pretty much spot-on for me. Can't wait to see more!

The Triton 100ATM is definitely a stunner. I really like it.hearteyes.gifhearteyes.gifhearteyes.gif And for your guys think it looked bit busy because of its duo tone appearance. A DLC model is in the pipeline but don't know when it is available. And I'll get the DLC one in a heartbeat. Oooo, now the black DLC version looks MUCH nicer to me, the black/orange combo is AMAZING! That would override the business, and with that little black accent on the HEV? YES!

The black one should be availble by March according to the thread at WUS. The finish is supposed to very extremely scratch resistant according to him as well. I honk the all black would look great. He also mentioned it should be the same price. Dan

Yes, the dial is busy but this kind may be a visual advantage when you dive...? To help on better visibility in troubled waters I mean. From my guess, the 14mm in thickness should be enough for the 1000m requiered. If you got 3mmm thick back, you're more than good and the 11mm above should do the trick as the 2824-2 mvt is 5mm thick. Anyway, this "low diver" could be an advantage as a tool-watch because it would not grab/hook everywhere. Offcourse it take out some of the chunky look but I guess that if Steinhart compressed the all sandwich, it was in a practical view. What do you think? I like the look anyway! But will wait to see the new Aqualuna ![]()
