I was watching El Gordo on Slop last night when to my amazement they had the temerity to sell COSC certified watches without the COSC certification. lol Of course the prices were reduced but how can they lose the COSC paperwork, and what's the point of calling it COSC if there's no paperwork to support it? Yeah, I know it's just a piece of paper but it's funny to me that they lost them or something. Maybe they are returns? I don't know, it's just funny/fishy to me.

It's funny to watch El Corona Gorda...Someone needs to tell him he is not Jay Leno. He is a salesman who happens to be in front of a greasy camera. It's fun to watch him play talk show host??! smile8.gif "Welcome to the show...." "now. tonight we have a very special guest!" I am always so let down. I am expecting Stallone, or Deniro...maybe Demi Moore...face4.gif Last edited on Tue Jan 9th, 2007 05:23 pm by |

Even better is the guest's unintelligible BS. He makes some fantastically nonsensical claims... I must admit I looked at it for a moment during last night's debacle. Say what you will, it is entertaining... humourously entertaining. I wish I could say the same for the SAH offering. Without the Watch Commander I find the shows a bit too dry. To many the WC is irritating but he does have energy. I really find Gabriel from Oceanaut to have a laconic manner of speaking which is coma inducing. JMHO. Back on topic. A COSC certified watch without certification? OY!! I caught the ruby and sapphire encrusted monstrosity. I'm no arbitar of taste, but who wants that... or a blue Russian Diver... or a blue Prowler. Is it just me or are these offerings over the top? I guess I'm just not the type of SERIOUS collector they are targeting...

Seriously....does anyone still watch Slop...isn't it all Invicta now?face4.gif Rumor has it that Lior and maybe even the Merm are jumping ship to TT/SAH....especially after Lior got dissed by one of the owners and then piled on by it's members of another forum supposed to be the home base for Slop!![]()

I thought you had to have the paperwork in order to claim COSC but apparently not. That's why I thought it was odd. I read somewhere that Invicta is the only one that actually includes the certificate with COSC certified watches. They also engrave the number on the movement so I guess it doesn't matter if you have the piece of paper or not.

I got the certificate with my Doxa COSC but it is my only chronometer so that's all I know. I do think different brands include differnt types of paperwork and certification. I guess Invicta is clearly not the only brand to include paperwork since they seem to be selling these without a cert. May be some of the other members with chronometers can elaborate on their paperwork? Last edited on Wed Jan 10th, 2007 06:58 pm by Paxman |

Without the certificate it is just a serialized movement with no warranty that it actually passed COSC tests and for that matter no warranty that it was even submitted. All you get out of that deal is the knowledge that at least one of the bridges on the movement was serialized for COSC testing nothing more.
