Every WIS individual has different set of rules in buying watches. And here are my five basic rules in buying a watch.
1. Automatic/Manual winding(prefarably swiss ETA based movement)
2. Brushed/satin finished case
3. Not less than 40mm in case diameter
4. Sapphire crystal
5. And it should be within my price range
I used to own some QUARTZ watches(mostly CHRONO) and other watches that do not fall into these criteria and ended up selling them all. So, now I am trying to strictly follow these rules to avoid losing $:(

But..........I am increasingly finding that there are watches that meet Rules 1 & 2 but violate Rule 4! :shock: Actually it was Mark's Ocean7 G-2 :cool: over on 'New Arrivals' that finally prompted me to seriously question Rule No. 4.
I am guessing that most people are guided most by somethign like my Rule 1, but I would be really interested in other people's collecting 'rules' and specifically.....give me some arguments to help me convince myself that 'quartz is OK' .........so that I can buy a G-2!
