U.S. Customs is holding my Megalodon for two reasons. The first is its declared value ($50 which in fact is under valued). Customs has valued the watch at $1000 dollars, way over valued. When I asked how they determined this they said on the web (that watch is the second generation which has no preorder discount) So I have to have the Ralf or Steve send an updated invoice. The second reason is the case it comes in. The Customs official believed it to be exotic and illegal, when in fact it is man made. So a U.S. Fish and Wildlife inspector is going to have to clear it, "sometime within the next two weeks". Bottom line no watch and no clue when it will get here.crap.gif Anyone else having problems with U.S. Customs?

That's crazy...I have probably had 50+ watches shipped from outside the US and have never had one held up in customs...that really sucks crap.gif

Unfortunately there is probably nothing you can do but whatever they say you need to do and follow their instructions to the letter.

Bad luck PXM! It just happened that some zellish guy wanted to show some power in the customs... Now he can go home and tell to his wife and kids that he's the Man and that people can't escape him... Poor fagg.

I have never heard of U.S customs doing this because we do not pay Customs tax in the U.S.unless it is fedex overnight and that is a fedex charge... phone #'s are only required for overnight delivery and not mandatory... the Megs came Fedex Int'l priority...all of the Megs coming into the U.S more than likely came through the same hub and so far none of us have had this happenface4.gif

How did you guys find out about these being held in customs? I don't even have a tracking number on mine and I've emailed Steve at Benarus a few times with no luck (he replies, but no tracking number).

I can't email Ralf - his email is private on his profile. Can you PM it to me - Fedex has no record of anything coming to my address, so I'd like to get to the bottom of this quickly and get it resolved.

John

Ralf is not in the U.S...he is in Thailand....and when not there he is in Germany...both countries have notorious Customs dept. :D
