At first I had the same problem, until I approached from the opposite side, removed the the screw cap and tapped out the seized lug shaft with a toothpick. Thanks for the tefon tape tip. Greg

i had a similar problem and needed to tap the lug pin out... i asked steve to send me an additional lug pin set in the event that i damaged mine... he hooked me up at no charge!! not only do you get a great watch at a great price, great customer service is part of the deal!!! thanks ralf & steve!!! - mbdx

The heat in some cass can help slightly expand the metal enough to loosen a screw. Will not hurt the watch. I've done this on dozens of them. Great for loosening up loctite also. ;)

Skip's suggestion is good - it's probably just loc-tite holding on a bit too much. Heat can sometimes help (so, for example, sometimes I run or dunk under hot water for 5-10 minutes, or try a hair dryer), & then just slow steady gentle torque. A strip of masking tape or painters tape on the outside of the lugs can help protect the case from scratches. If you can figure out a way to tape the watch down or have someone hold the case while you use two hands, one to hold the screwdriver on one side steady and the other to turn the second screwdriver on the other side, that also helps a lot (and you have to use two screwdrivers, one on each side, or it just turns the tube in place). I use a Bergeon 6730 tool, which is great, but they run about $100 so prob not worth it for an individual. If you continue to have trouble, take it to a nearby jeweler… many will undo it for free, but even those who charge will only charge you $15-20. It should only be difficult the first time.

Yeah I tried the hairdryer (its surprising how hot that makes the metal). I'll try Mr Bali Ha'i suggestion, if I'm still struggling I'll get a jewellers to remove them and then get Ralf to send me a couple of replacement screws with the Moray I have on order, just t oimprove the asthetic. The screws on mine were a little difficult to shift first time -- I found a "third hand" helped to hold the watch whilst I used the two screwdrivers. Interestingly though I didn't see any evidence of Loctite on the screws. This has made me wonder should I be applying a small ammount of Loctite after I have changed the strap on my Sea Devil?

MINE ALSO WILL NOT BUDGE,THEY ARE BY FAR THE TIGHTEST SCREWS IVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH IN A WATCH,AFTER A COUPLE TRIES I GAVE UP BEFORE I RUINED SOMETHING. I DO THINK A DROP OF W-D40 MIGHT WORK. NOT SURE THOUGH. STEVE
